Dec. 30 (Reuters) – Tesla has decided to recall more than 475,000 of its Model 3 and Model S electric cars in a bid to address reversing camera and trunk issues that increase the risk of an accident, the agency said. United States road safety regulations.

The U.S. electric vehicle maker is recalling 356,309 2017-2020 Model 3 vehicles for backup camera issues and 119,009 Model S vehicles due to front hood issues.

“The unavailability of the rear view camera display can affect the driver’s visibility to the rear and increase the risk of a collision,” said the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the federal agency responsible for the road safety.

Tesla is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fatalities related to problems with its Model 3 and Model S cars, the NHTSA added.
