While we thought this vehicle had been abandoned by the American company, Tesla is now offering its Cyberquad again for sale, a small electric quad intended for children.
Tesla has again started selling its Cyberquad for Kids all-electric vehicle, but this time it’s the Chinese market that’s benefiting from the Cybertruck-inspired vehicle. As a reminder, it had already been launched in the United States last year at 1900 dollars through Radio Flyer. However, stocks had quickly run out, and it hadn’t been on the market long.
Indeed, the Cyberquad for Kids was banned in the United States after the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) discovered ” violations of federal safety standards for all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and a risk of injury and asked customers to return vehicles and request a refund. Following this recall, Radio Flyer had offered affected customers a full refund of the $1,900 purchase priceprovided they send the drive motor to prove that the Quad is no longer in working order.
Tesla is betting on its Cyberquad again, but only in China
Several months after the ban on sale in the United States, Tesla has therefore marketed its vehicle again, but this time in China. It’s actually a small functional replica of the real Cyberquad, which was introduced alongside the Cybertruck in 2019.
In terms of technical characteristics, it is equipped with a small 500 watt electric motor and a 188 Wh battery capable of reaching a maximum speed of 8 km/h and which offers approximately 13 kilometers of autonomy. There is also a 350 W motor, and it probably takes about an hour and a half to recharge.
Thanks to this low power, the Cyberquad for Kids is, as its name suggests, intended for children, preferably between the ages of 8 and 12 and weighing no more than 68 kg. For now, Tesla has only relaunched its small quad in China, but it is not known whether or not the vehicle will arrive in other countries. Nor does any document indicate that it has been modified from the version which posed security problems across the Atlantic.
