Tesla should considerably improve its Model S and Model X with these two new features

After the restyling of the Tesla Model 3 and the upcoming arrival of the Cybertruck, it is time for Tesla to restore a little interest in its flagships, the Model S and Model ‘before is about to arrive. The start of a revolution at Tesla?

The new Tesla Model 3 may overshadow the Model S, as we have already explained. This is a problem for the brand, which must show that its high-end cars remain better than the Model 3 and Model Y.

It seems that a front camera, which actually disappeared from the new Model 3 even before its official release, will soon arrive on the Tesla Model X and the Model S.

A camera that is terribly lacking

It has become rare today to find a high-end electric car other than Tesla that does not have a camera on the front bumper. Without going as far as six-figure priced vehicles, the 2018 Nissan Leaf already offers a camera on its bumper to visualize obstacles in front of the vehicle, as well as a 360-degree view.

More recently, the MG ZS EV benefits from the same thing, just like the Renault Mégane E-Tech, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, or most current references on the market. Subscribers missing this very useful technology still find Tesla, even if the production Cybertruck should logically receive its camera at the level of the bumper, as is the case on the current prototypes in circulation.

One of notateslaapp’s sources confirmed that the Model S and Model X were going to be refreshed soon, with two interesting additions. The first concerns the arrival of the front camera, which will undoubtedly make it easier to maneuver when you want to park near an obstacle. We do not currently know if the use of this camera will be limited to this use case, or if Autopilot and fully autonomous driving will also benefit from it.

Ambient lighting across the entire range

Another novelty, minor but which takes on its full meaning, concerns the arrival of ambient LED lightingas we now know it on the Tesla Model 3. Recently, the Chinese Tesla Model Y took advantage of this new feature in the online configurator, which left the Model S and X less equipped than less expensive vehicles.

To maintain consistency in the range while making the Model S and

The future will tell us if these new features are revealed with great fanfare, or if, as is sometimes the case, some new owners will be surprised upon delivery.
