Many announcements were made by Tesla on April 23, 2024, on the occasion of the publication of the financial results for the first quarter of the year. After unveiling the Tesla Model 3 Performance or confirming the production of more affordable electric cars, the manufacturer discussed autonomous carpooling.
Going hand in hand with the future robotaxi, this new service will take place directly in the current Tesla application. Thanks to it, users will be able to order a vehicle from the brand in order to take a 100% autonomous driving trip.

Via five screenshots, we briefly discover Tesla’s autonomous carpooling interface. We thus find visuals showing the vehicle control, the waiting screen, but also options for managing the temperature or even choosing the music played before its arrival.
At the time of writing, Tesla has not announced a launch period for this service. The officialization of its Robotaxi on August 8 should still clarify things.
In any case, Tesla has more than an interest in quickly entering a market where Uber and Waymo are already well present. To do this, it will have to overcome various obstacles relating to production, regulation and obtaining the necessary level of autonomous driving.
