After having revolutionized the world of electric cars with Tesla and space travel with SpaceX, Elon Musk is embarking on the development of humanoid robots.

We no longer present it, the whimsical CEO of Tesla and the second world fortune behind Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, made the electric car viable thanks to Tesla. Never short of ideas, he is constantly considering the next move and this time it is about robotics. The visual he showed at the company’s investor meeting unveils Tesla’s ambitions for the future, as well as a date for Tesla AI Day #2.

Optimus on the agenda for Tesla AI Day #2?

Last year, Tesla AI Day #1 took place in September. The event was mainly focused on autonomous driving, but it also presented a robot derived from the brand’s Autopilot cars. This “Tesla Bot” was the big surprise of the event, but it was last January that the entrepreneur announced his desire to direct Tesla towards the development of humanoid machines.

According to the CEO of the company, production could begin as early as 2023. If these robots were initially intended for professional use limited to repetitive tasks, it would seem that Elon Musk’s ambition is greater. . In the long term, the company would like to develop the possible tasks of the supposed “Optimus” so that it can also be useful to consumers.

According to a tweet from Elon Musk, the event that was supposed to take place on August 19 will finally be held on September 30 and should be “ lots of cool stuff ! This event, like Apple’s Keynote, was illustrated by two robot hands forming a heart. We can therefore assume without taking too much risk that Optimus should be the center of attention!
