What’s more American than a Cybertruck? A Cybertruck specially prepared for the needs of the police or intervention forces of course! Tesla’s gigantic pickup truck is being radically transformed by an American company.
The Cybertruck, which made its first appearance in France at the VivaTech show in May, is clearly an automotive UFO. (Too) big, (too) heavy, a more than special look; some will even say that it is a strictly useless vehicle. This is not the opinion of Unplugged Performance, and more especially of its subsidiary UP.FIT, specialized in the preparation of Cybertrucks adapted to law enforcement.

Unplugged Performance was already preparing Tesla Model Ys for the police, so the logical next step was to offer the same service, but for the Cybertruck. Their subsidiary UP.FIT therefore offers modification packages classified into different categories: patrol, administration (?) or special and tactical operations. These modified Cybertrucks incorporate not only specially designed rifle mounts, but also reinforced tires for pursuits as well as siren systems.
UP.FIT actually launched its activities last April with a pilot partnership with the Anaheim police, providing them with prepared Tesla Model Ys. Their slogan: “ Made in America, for American heroes “. This sets the tone.
Science fiction meets reality, but it’s expensive!
The potential of the Cybertruck as a police vehicle has also aroused keen interest on social networks. Indeed, last January, the Rosenberg Police Department, Texas, published evocative photographs of a Cybertruck parked near a patrol car. Questioning Elon Musk about the possible suitability of the vehicle for their operational needs. Musk’s response couldn’t have been clearer and arrived two hours later in the form of an emoji: “ 100% “.
UP.FIT offers more than 25 standard upgrades for the Patrol Cybertruck, in addition to multiple additional options. However, the cost of a Cybertruck thus modified could easily exceed $90,000, while a Ford Explorer Police Interceptor, very widely used across the Atlantic, amounts to approximately $47,000.
Ben Schaffer, founder of Unplugged Performance, seems determined to establish the importance of his company with Tesla and the authorities: “ Expect lots of announcements coming soon about our Cybertruck UP.FIT programs » he explains.
