The Optimus Gen 2 has touch sensors on each of its fingers, giving the robot greater control over the pressure exerted on objects. Tesla illustrates this progress in a video published on Elon Musk’s company has also improved the balance of its robot. The latter is now able to do squats, a muscle strengthening exercise which consists of bending the legs.

The humanoid robot, to get closer to “its peers” — us humans — must learn to behave as such. Optimus Gen 2 is thus able to dance, as he proudly shows at the end of the published video, in a nightclub atmosphere.

As Elon Musk likes to remind us, the development of robots should not be taken lightly. The businessman is already considering the scenario of maliciously programmed robots, which could pose a danger to humans.
