Unlike minimalism, which seeks to purify interiors, maximalism aims for the exact opposite. This is what transpires from this new kit Maximalist Decoof which the prints and colors mix to form a completely different result. Three styles stand out from the kit: the “Chinoiseries”, the “Regency” and the “Abstract Modern”. The franchise offers us to mix the three sets for a maximum effectwhich is reminiscent of the time of the first part of the sims, with its furniture with a particular taste. A wave of nostalgia!

With 18 new building elements, 2 floors and 3 wallpapers, the kit Maximalist Deco might seem a little light for a kit focused on decoration. However, we were surprised by the quality of these objects and the work done on them. Indeed, the variety of patterns can totally change the look of a piece of furniture. We then feel like we have a lot more than 18 building blocks. Thus, the proposed sofa and armchair can radically change the style of the room depending on their material or print. The tones of the available colors blend rather well with each other, ranging from very colorful to the most sober. Each element can thus be easily adapted to different interiorsas a center piece in bright colors or a more discreet decoration in neutral tones.
Glass is a material used for two surface elements, namely the coffee table and the pedestal table. This material goes well with the three styles of the kit, so that’s a good point. The proposed fireplace is simple, but becomes original when it is in color. The mirror divided into several parts adds a touch of modernity and can dress a wall in a subtle way while enlarging the room. However, one construction element caught our attention: the circle of infinity. Its inspiration is rather reminiscent of the 1970s and represents more of a curiosity in this kit.
On the other hand, the sculpture in the shape of a peacock is sublime, all the more so with the diversity of colors it sports. The small model representing two giraffes looking at each other in a graphic version is nice, but nothing more. The TV cabinet, on the other hand, is quite well worked, but remains quite classic, if we do not take into account the different colors. A good point for the decorative wall ensemble which includes several small frames, plants and mirrors, whose images adapt to the chosen style. The two lamps in the kit are also well designed, with a “falling” halogen which installs a cozy atmosphere and a slightly more modern ceiling light that brings a little pep piece. The possibility of installing paneling on the walls helps to modernize the interior and add a little more depth to the room.
This construction kit provides access to many possibilities, despite a number of elements that may seem a bit low. Deco maximalist yes, if we mix everything, but if we take each of the elements separately, it is possible for us to create magnificent interiors with original and colorful rooms.
