Test winner and price tip: One printer beats the competition

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9012e at a glance

Our current test winner among the inkjet printers is the HP OfficeJet Pro 9012e, which costs around 200 euros – a very attractive price. The HP device not only occupies our top position in the list of the best, but is also our price-performance tip.

All in all, the OfficeJet Pro 9012e shows a very good performance in the test: the text and color printing is of high quality – even small fonts are easy to read – and the copies are excellent. I like the colours. Due to the good resolution of the print, even finer details can be seen. However, the HP device not only prints in high quality, but also quickly: it creates about 17 text pages per minute.

We also liked the diverse interfaces: (W)LAN connection, USB and the interface via app and HP+ – practical, because thanks to AirPrint support you can order printouts directly via your smartphone.

The purchase price of the HP OfficeJet Pro 9012e is cheap, but the ink cartridges are a bit more expensive. In the long run, the model is therefore not exactly cheap for frequent printers, but the OfficeJet Pro 9012e works quite economically. The slightly weaker graphic print is also a small drawback.

Our conclusion at the time of testing:

“In spite of the very fair purchase price, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9012e proves to be an excellent inkjet printer in the test. It scores with high-quality text and photo printing and creates particularly high-quality copies. The printer still reacts pleasantly quickly and produces around 17 text pages per Minute. The variety of interfaces is pleasing with (W)LAN connection, USB and the functions of the app and HP+. The use of ink cartridges is not cheap for people who print a lot in the long run, but the OfficeJet Pro works reasonably economically. The only (slight) weak point is the graphic print.”
