What should you look out for in a washing machine?

The most important question is this space issue: The standard washing machine is large and heavy. Before you buy a model, you should therefore check carefully whether it can be accommodated in the desired place – and whether electricity and water connections are nearby.

Also important is the capacity of the machine: It makes little sense to set up a large family machine if you are a single person. Conversely, the machine should not be too small in order to be able to wash as much clothing as possible in one go. The rule of thumb here is: a 3 kg machine is enough for one person, around 5 kg machines for two to three people, 8 kg machines for four to five people.
