After their divorce, Linda and her ex-husband chose to live under the same roof for the sake of their young children. And they even pushed their vision of the blended family even further…
At the start of 2021, for Linda FruitsThe conclusion is clear. After eight years of marriage, her desire for Christopher Haerting, her husband, has stalled. Since the birth of their second child in particular, their sex life has been a bleak plain. Despite the tenderness they still feel for each other. “I couldn’t even kiss him anymore. So I thought maybe we needed to have a more open marriage, so he could go somewhere else.”she says.
But one evening, on TikTok, the young 33-year-old mother has a revelation, a “sexual awakening”, as she says. She realizes that she is very attracted to the women she sees on her screen. The couple, who divorced in August 2021, get along well and decide, “for the good of the children”to continue to live together. “We told our sons, Elliot, 4, and Owen, 2, that we would always be family, that we would always love them and that mum and dad were going to raise them as two best friends from now on.”explains Linda.
“I was not against being their donor, but I did not want to be only that”
From November 2021, the young woman is in a serious relationship with Maddy Gross, 36 years old. Six months later, Maddy moves in with her darling, in the big house where Christopher and the two boys live. The cohabitation between adults is a success, and the children adore their mother’s girlfriend. “Maddy told me that she had always wanted to be a mother, and was actively trying to find a donor”, reports Linda. The two women quickly come to the conclusion that, if Christopher becomes their donor, all the children will be linked together.
They end up talking to him about it. “I had a new girlfriend too, and I had no problem with Maddy moving in with us. We all got along really well. I was not against being their donor, but I did I didn’t want to be just that. I wanted to be the legal father.”, says the 36-year-old man. The agreement concluded, Maddy becomes pregnant thanks to Christopher’s donation of gametes.
“We had to communicate with a lot of honesty”
At six months pregnant, everything is going well for Maddy: the baby is expected in May 2023. The trio, who “is not a trouple”ensures that they will raise the baby together. “We didn’t get here in a day. We had to communicate with a lot of honesty. Maybe by sharing our story, we can inspire everyone to be positive with each other. There’s no need to go through a toxic separation. It doesn’t benefit anyone, especially children.”conclude Linda and Christopher, parents for life.
