TESTIMONY. “My face is bruised for no reason, the doctors are amazed”

The young Nancy Morel is now 18 years old, but it has already been 5 years since this young Englishman who lives between London and Birmingham suffers froma strange illness that completely changed his life. It all started when she was 13 and in class, her lip started to swell. Believing an allergic reaction to ibuprofen when she swore she hadn’t taken it, the teenager was taken to hospital, where she was told it was not an allergic reaction. Nancy Morel was therefore sent home, where she had to monitor the swelling on his lip that gradually turned into bruises and which spread on his legs, his stomach, his feet or even his face.

“Now most of the time it shows up all over my body” explained the young woman according to the Daily Mail. This disease which sprinkles his face and his body with bruises did not still not diagnosed despite Nancy Morel’s numerous visits to the hospital and the biopsies performed. “I did a lot of tests and three biopsies. The doctors said they couldn’t find a particular disease that would cause it, they told me they were pretty sure it was urticarial vasculitis.”. This disease, which causes inflammation of the blood vessels and which leads to lesions that can be painful or burning, is not, however, what affects Nancy Morel. Indeed after being treated for several years for this disease, the doctors reconsidered their diagnosis.

She doesn’t want to go to the hospital anymore

The young Englishwoman now finds herself at the starting point in terms of diagnosis, with a painful illness whose crises she now manages to anticipate. Nancy has now decided to stop looking for answers at the hospital, tired of hundreds of visits and treatments that never bore fruit. “I have seen a lot of doctors and they have no idea what it can be”. Present on social networks, she receives a lot of support from her relatives and strangers and tries to convey a positive message about appearance and what makes everyone unique.
