TF1 and M6 reach agreements with Altice Media to sell TFX and 6Ter


PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The audiovisual groups TF1 and M6 announced on Friday that they had concluded agreements with the Altice Media group with a view to selling it the digital terrestrial television channels TFX and 6ter in the event of the realization of their project. of merger.

The two transactions remain subject to the agreement of the Competition Authority and the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom), as well as the completion of the merger project between TF1 and M6, indicated the two groups in separate press releases.

“The TFX channel will thus remain fully controlled by the TF1 group throughout 2022,” TF1 said. M6 did not provide a disposal schedule.

TF1 and M6 announced at the end of February that they had entered into exclusive negotiations with Altice Media regarding the possible sale of TFX and 6ter.

The two audiovisual groups signed a merger agreement in July 2021. They had then indicated that the operation should be finalized no later than the end of 2022. In February, TF1 had underlined that its project of rapprochement with M6 was continuing “in a timetable in accordance with that initially planned”.
