SVOD attracts all major audiovisual players, including French ones. After the failure of Salto, the first channel in the national territory is launching a new streaming service soberly named TF1+ which has the particularity of offering free (with advertising) more than 15,000 hours of programs. Here are 8 films not to be missed on Netflix’s competitor, Disney+ and Amazon+ without spending a cent.
Brightburn: Evil Child (2019)

Lucy (2014)
Lucy is probably one of Luc Besson’s films that most divides moviegoers. A misunderstood masterpiece for some, the last stone brought to the mausoleum of the French filmmaker for others, this science fiction film focuses on the myth of the incomplete use of the brain with the cast Scarlett Johansson, Morgan Freeman, Choi Min -sik and Amr Waked. November Criminals (2017)
Released directly on VOD (Video on Demand), November Criminals is an adaptation of the novel The November Criminals written by Sam Munson and published in 2010. The Story of Anvil, Hitchcock) and co-written with Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Star Wars: New Jedi Order) focuses on the investigation carried out by the couple Ansel Elgort and Chloë Grace Moretz in order to discover the truth about the murder of their friend.

Luc Besson is once again interested in science fiction in 2017 with a titanic project. With a budget of 226 million dollars, Valerian and the city of a thousand planets is a space opera in the vein of Star Wars adapted from the Valérian and Laureline comic book series written by PIerre Christin, illustrated by Jean-Claude Mézières and colored by Evelyne Tranlé. Despite a Hollywood cast (Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, Clive Owen, Rihanna, Ethan Hawke), this sci-fi film does not repeat the feat of The Fifth Element. Descended by critics, it became a financial pit for EuropaCorp.

Officially launched on Monday January 8, 2024, TF1+ offers no less than 15,000 hours of programs including series, children’s programs as well as 200 films. This French streaming service as rich as Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video (but not Netflix with its 40,000 hours) is free. Nevertheless, there is a Premium offer (€5.99/month without commitment) which allows, among other things, to remove advertisements and preview certain content.
