TF1 is preparing to make its return to the little streaming war. A press conference held this Wednesday, December 20, made it possible to present its future streaming platform, simply titled TF1+, whose launch is scheduled for January 8, 2024. In addition to thousands of hours of free content and new programs in France, the service will offer a new tool: Synchro.
Synchro, what is it?
Sync is simply a program recommendation engine, designed to help family members find the perfect movie or series to watch together.
In detail, the principle is the same as the algorithm already present on Netflix or Disney+: each member of the family will be entitled to their own profile, based on their age and tastes, and it will be refined gradually. as it is consumed.
But the real novelty of the Synchro tool is that it offers to cross-reference the data of the different profiles (parents, children, friends, etc.) of an account to offer a selection of compatible programs for everyone. A “world premiere” and a tool “unique in the world”according to the channel.
Synchro will, however, not be available from the launch of TF1+ on January 8: you will have to wait until March 2024 to try it.
Between a replay platform and streaming service, TF1+ will offer 15,000 hours of programs at start-up, including 200 films, 200 series and several emblematic programs of the channel in full (Koh Lanta, The Voice, star Academy). To note that More beautiful life will also make a comeback.
Although the full list of contents has not yet been revealed, we do know that it will notably offer American series The Vampire Diaries, Charmed, The Scott brothers, Jane the Virgin, Nashville, The Shield or even the new Poker face.
This AVoD (Advertising Video on Demand) platform – and therefore free and financed by advertising – will still offer a paid offer without ads: TF1+ Premium. At a price of €5.99/month, it will replace the current MyTF1Max.
TF1+ will thus be available on decoders from Orange, Bouygues Telecom, SFR and Free. It will also be present on connected televisions (Fire TV, Philipps, Samsung, Android TV, Hisense, LG), with TF1 nurturing the hope that its application will sit alongside those of Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.
