TFT – Mid Set 7.5 Unknown Realms: Dragons Get a Makeover

Bye bye gunners or dragon riders, make way for the lagoon synergy or even Black Wings, but that’s not all. TFT’s mid set 7.5 will bring a lot of changes in convergence and Riot Games has also decided to update the dragons, and there is probably one that will change everything since you can now put so many dragons on your land without them. optimization that allowed it. The dragons granting loot also have the right to their small upgrade. Discover all the changes that await you with patch 12.17!

The unique dragon, it’s finito

The truth is that Riot Games isn’t completely happy with the first part of the set. Some Dragons quickly found their place while others required a lot more balancing (like Shyvana or Aurelion Sol). With their high cost, unique type, and hogging the two slots, it took the developers a while to get each dragon to earn its place without being too punishing. Their high cost created difficult situations where players had to be very lucky or plan their economy to the nth degree to get 3 copies.

As you were only entitled to one dragon until now (except the specific optimization), it was very frustrating to cross all the others (without seeing yours appear). Well it’s over! Here are the changes to Dragons with the mid set:

  • Dragons are no longer unique.
  • Dragon is now a vertical type.
  • Dragons now cost 6, 7, and 8 gold at tiers 3, 4, and 5, respectively.

As a result, it was necessary to create a new trait specific to the Dragon, a trait that will give you from 4 Dragons, an additional slot in your team to allow you to place up to 5 Dragons on the field!

The Dragon trait works much like Guild in that when you add Dragons the trait does different things. Let’s see these things:

  • innate : Dragons require 2 slots.
  • Dragons provide +3 to the marked trait, and gain additional bonuses based on the number of Dragons on your team.
  • (1) 500 HP
  • (2) and 20 armor and magic resistance
  • (3) and 10% more damage
  • (4) and +1 to team size
  • (5) and double the previous stat bonuses.

If you’re having a hard time leveling up, new enhancements called Dragon Heart which gives you +1 to dragon trait, and a prismatic called Age of Dragons, which grants three dragons (Zippy, Nomsy, and a level 4 random) have been added. Additionally, if you only have Dragons on the field, every 5th attack from a Dragon triggers a Dragon Soul explosion that deals magic damage equal to a portion of the target’s max HP.

Loot Dragon Changes

Instead of spawning with the same loot distribution each time, the Precious Dragon can now spawn in three different versions. These new versions are the Chaos Dragon and the Order Dragon, which each spawn in 30% of games. The remaining 40% get the classic Precious Dragon. The same version of the Precious Dragon appears for all players. Let’s take a look at what they offer!

Chaos Dragon

The Chaos Dragon will have a very variable loot with each relaunch. Items will not have a clear theme or purpose, but will always be of high value. Some more than others, but you’ll have to reroll to see what works best for your team.

The Chaos Dragon can hold Emblems, Ornn items, Champion Duplicators, Spatulas, and just about anything players might find useful (except a towel). It also marks the return of the Training Dummy consumable from Destinies: Festival of Beasts. Here are some options!

With its variable rewards and costly re-roll, Chaos Dragon should give players new possibilities to explore.

Order Dragon

The Dragon of Order is focused on obtaining an item of light to strengthen the team. This dragon will offer options comparable to those of the Precious Dragon, but much more powerful thanks to the inclusion of an object of light.

The addition of light objects was really important for the development team, as it adds a new layer of decision making, between choosing your favorite light object rather than the object component you were looking to give the ideal combo for your carry.

All these new features are now available on the PBE. Midset 7.5 will hit servers with patch 12.17, which will hit live servers on Wednesday, September 8, 2022.

With patch 12.7 comes the 7.5 set update called the Unknown Realms. Many changes are planned, particularly in terms of champions and synergies. Find out which characters are stepping down and who will replace them.
