At the beginning of the year, bandai namco announced a new game One Piece developped by ILCA, One Piece Odyssey, the launch of which was then planned for this year. Months have passed without any date deigning to be given during the appearances of the game, whether during the Summer Game Fest Live or on the occasion of the distribution of a developer diary. It will have been necessary to wait for the presentation of this Thursday within the framework of the Tokyo Game Show 2022 to finally be fixed and unfortunately, it won’t be for 2022, but it won’t be long, don’t worry.
One Piece Odyssey is indeed scheduled for release on January 13, 2023 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PC by us, and the day before in Japan. The new trailer reveals that the island of Waford is legendary, appeared one day as if by magic, and that it is “the luminous road to the celestial kingdom”. The story goes that it is inhabited by a little girl and her giant protector. Yes, it is clearly Lim and the strange creature already seen. We also learn that this young girl does not like pirates and thus will steal the powers of the crewrequiring subsequently to find cubes containing them, a good way to justify their evolution since it is a RPG with turn-based combat. Memories will also play an essential role, since the end of trailer shows us Alabasta and vivi (Karoo was also shown on a screenshot afterwards). Everything suggests that we will visit other iconic places of the work, it remains to be seen which ones.
Several editions will be marketed, starting with a standard (€69.99) and a Deluxe digital (€84.99) containing some objects and cosmetic elements in-gamein addition to giving access to a future DLCs undisclosed storyline. Pre-order bonuses will be included, regardless of the edition chosen.
