(CercleFinance.com) – The Mauritian Prime Minister’s office has entrusted the consortium led by Thales with the establishment of a national identity system.
This project aims to improve the services offered to citizens and strengthen the security of their identity. It represents a key step towards a new generation digital transformation.
As part of this ten-year contract, Thales is providing an identity management system to securely issue innovative identity cards.
Once registered, the citizen will receive a new electronic identity card incorporating the latest technologies and security features from Thales, including high-resolution color photos to effectively combat falsification and identity theft.
‘By bringing the complementarity of the digital companion to the physical ID card, Mauritius brings together the best of both worlds, providing the optimal combination of security and convenience,’ says Youzec Kurp, vice president of identity and biometrics solutions at Thales.
