(CercleFinance.com) – Vietnam will equip itself with a Search & Rescue solution based on the latest technologies from Thales Alenia Space. The group set up the MEOLUT Next solution to locate distress signals.
This solution will make it possible to instantly detect and locate any distress signal emitted by a
COSPAS-SARSAT beacon on land, at sea and in the air, within a radius of 2500 km around the
city of Haiphong, mainly through the Galileo satellite positioning system.
‘The MEOLUT Next solution can, thanks to its compact antennas of less than six square meters, track up to 30 satellites and thus significantly improve the detection rate of distress beacons and widen the coverage area. MEOLUT Next is thus capable of detecting and locating distress signals transmitted over 5000 km away,” the group indicates.
