(Boursier.com) — Air India has chosen the AVANT Up In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) solution from Thales.

Thales will upgrade and modernize Air India’s fleet of 40 Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft with its cutting-edge AVANT Up system. This modernization will begin in 2024 and continue in 2025. Thales will install the AVANT Up IFE system on Air India’s 11 new Airbus and Boeing aircraft, with first deliveries planned for 2025.

The AVANT Up solution offers numerous possibilities and integrates a wide range of services and applications, such as an interactive 3D map and immersive programming based on the aircraft’s route. Thales Select User Interface (UI) will strengthen passenger engagement by offering them a highly intuitive user experience to navigate a rich catalog of entertainment.

AVANT Up from Thales offers an Optiq, 4K QLED HDR screen allowing a superior display and continuous cinematic experience. Optiq offers USB-A and USB-C fast charging ports directly integrated into the display and is the only display with dual Bluetooth connections and built-in WiFi. With Optiq, passengers can pair their wireless headphones or any other device to the screen while charging their phone and computer, so they arrive at their destination relaxed and entertained, while having their equipment recharged.
