(CercleFinance.com) – Eutelsat Communications has selected Thales Alenia Space (Thales 67% and Leonardo 33%) for the construction of a new generation satellite.
‘ The Flexsat (for ‘Flexible satellite’) will be based on the innovative Space Inspire product line
(INstant SPace In-orbit Reconfiguration) developed by Thales Alenia Space, and can be reconfigured in a totally transparent manner and instantly adjusted in orbit in order to offer customers the best possible level of service while guaranteeing optimal use of the capacities available on board of the satellite ‘ indicates the group.
This new satellite will strengthen Eutelsat’s in-orbit resources by offering more than 100 Gbps of additional capacity in the Americas.
Delivery of the Flexsat is scheduled for 2026.
