Thales: contract of at least 5 years with the US army

(CercleFinance.com) – Thales announces that it is one of the two suppliers to which the US Army has awarded an IDIQ-type contract (undetermined deliveries and quantities) capped at $6 billion for the supply of advanced tactical radios as part of the modernization of its fleet of tactical radios.

This contract includes a basic period of five years, followed by a second period of five years, optional. It is part of the American desire to decommission the SINCGARS system (Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System), outdated.

Under this contract, Thales will supply a tactical radio based on the AN/PRC-148 IMBITR (Enhanced Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radio) system – the latest in a family of battlefield-proven voice and data tactical radios .
