Thales announced on Monday that it would quadruple the ammunition production capacity of its Ferté-Saint-Aubin (Loiret) site, in order to meet the French army’s demand for 120 mm shells.
The site, located near Orléans, will increase its annual production to more than 80,000 per year by 2026, compared to 20,000 munitions in 2023.
“We are honored by the renewed confidence of the French land forces. This order for 120mm ammunition is in line with capacity building,” Thales said in a press release.
