Krajewski is the first woman to ride gold in eventing

In the team, the German team narrowly missed the medals, but the reparations succeeded in the individual. Julia Krajewski surprises the competition in jumping and can now be celebrated as an Olympic champion.

Eventing rider Julia Krajewski was the first woman to win gold in the individual ranking at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The 32-year-old from Warendorf was not dropped in the final show jumping on the mare Amande de B’Neville. With a total of 26.00 penalty points, she prevailed ahead of the British Tom McEwen on Toledo de Kerser (29.30) and the Australian Andrew Hoy with Vassiliy de Lassos (29.60).

Michael Jung (Horb), who won gold in singles in London in 2012 and in Rio in 2016, finished eighth with Chipmunk (36.10). In the team ranking, the German team had previously remained in fourth place behind Great Britain, Australia and France without a medal.

The German eventing riders thus collected an individual medal at the fourth Olympic Games in succession. Hinrich Romeike triumphed in Beijing in 2008, Michael Jung won gold in London in 2012 and four years later in Rio. Sandra Auffarth also won bronze in London.
