It was in 2022 that Paul, a 46-year-old scaffolder in Leeds, Great Britain, received his AirTag. The inevitable happened. “I started shaking, I couldn’t believe it, because this car is my pride and joy”, remembers Paul. He then remembers that his SUV is equipped with an AirTag. He opens the app and decides to follow the thief.
After contacting the police, he finally found his vehicle “hidden on a quiet residential street”. A huge relief for the worker. Since the keys were in the ignition, he would not have been able to claim insurance, which would instead have cost him 7,000 pounds sterling, or a little more than 8,000 euros.
