Indeed, rumors have been circulating for some time regarding the release of Hi-Fi Rush on other consoles. Discussions also focused on Sea of Thieves, and now Starfield and even Indiana Jones are being discussed. Now, a new clue has just fallen. A confirmation ? The gaming world is in turmoil following recent reports suggesting that Xbox exclusive titles, such as Starfield and others, could become available on multiple platforms. A similar development is planned for the Game Pass subscription, which could also extend beyond the Xbox ecosystem. As if to add fuel to the fire, changes were spotted by a tech enthusiast on Twitter, Zuby_Tech.
His recent posts show images indicating that Xbox has changed the descriptions of some games in its online store. Previously, the listings for games like Avowed and Fable displayed the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox Game Pass logos, but these mentions have partly disappeared, replaced by the indication that the game is/will be available on “Console and PC”. Although it is better to remain cautious, as always. Because everything doesn’t seem so simple.
This trend is not limited to these two games, since the files of Starfield, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Age of Empires, Sea of Thieves, Doom Eternal, Deathloop, Fallout 76, State of Decay 2, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II and Hi-FI Rush mention “Console and PC”, always in part. This initiative suggests that these games could soon be available on other platforms. But beware ! The case of Microsoft’s multiplatform expansion takes a more concrete turn with the discovery of an employee’s LinkedIn profile indirectly confirming plans to release Xbox games on PlayStation. Cary Chen, director of gaming content for the Asian region at Microsoft and a long-time employee, revealed in his profile that his portfolio includes games from Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Blizzard, ZeniMax and Bethesda on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and Mobile. This information, spotted by Twitter user Timur222, suggests a strategy of opening up to consoles other than the Xbox. Note also that in the meantime, the man has modified his file to make the other supports disappear… Once again, it is difficult to determine whether all this constitutes a series of errors or simply a way of starting a Change of direction.
