The “100,000 Mark Show” celebrates a return with Ulla Kock am Brink. These revivals have already happened in the TV industry.

TV Germany is currently experiencing a boom in show comebacks. After more than 24 years, on September 4th (8:15 p.m. on RTL and RTL+) the “100,000 Mark Show” back on TV. But even before this show, other cult shows had their big return on the screen, such as this one…

“Bet that..?”

Since “Wetten, dass..?” When it flickered across German TV screens for the first time in 1981, viewers were thrilled. The show was moderated for six years by cult moderator Frank Elstner (80), who also had the idea. Then entertainer Thomas Gottschalk (72) took over the moderation until 2011. The reason for his resignation was a failed bet by Samuel Koch (34). This should jump on jumping stilts with a somersault over a moving car. Koch has been paralyzed since the incident. In 2012, Markus Lanz (53) was introduced as the show’s new moderator. In 2014 it was finally over for the show – for the time being.

In 2019, on the occasion of his 70th birthday in 2020, Thomas Gottschalk decided to moderate the show again and bring it back to TV. Due to the corona pandemic, it was postponed to autumn 2021 and the 40th anniversary. Over 15 million viewers watched the comeback. A complete success, which is why the show will return in autumn this year and next. Of course again with Thomas Gottschalk as moderator.

“Go all out!”

Absolute cult in the 90s: Families sat down together in front of the television and watched “Go all the way!” with moderator Jörg Draeger (76). The show ran from 1992 to 1997 on Sat. 1 and between 1999 and 2003 on kabel eins and offered exciting entertainment for young and old.

As with “Wetten, dass…?” the big comeback of the show was celebrated in autumn 2021. Jörg Draeger and the well-known Zonk returned. Once again, contestants were allowed to choose from a variety of goals, boxes or envelopes and win big money. As a consolation prize, everyone who is overtaken by the Zonk gets the red and black rat as a plush toy.

New episodes of the show ran on Sat. 1 from November 26 to December 10, 2021. Daniel Boschmann (41) moderated Draeger’s side.

“Totally TV”

It is probably the longest-lasting late-night show in Germany. Just like well-known programs in the USA, Stefan Raab (55) also opened “TV total” with a stand-up monologue from 1999 and then began to work through events from other TV programs in a humorous way. He always had a wide variety of guests on his sofa. Stars like Rihanna, Eminem, Will Smith or 50 Cent sat across from the moderator. In 2015, Stefan Raab not only said goodbye to his show, but also turned his back on the television landscape – at least in front of the camera.

Since then, fans have been wanting a comeback from the moderator and his cult show. The broadcaster ProSieben was able to fulfill one thing: at the end of 2021 “TV total” celebrated its big comeback. Since then, Sebastian Pufpaff (45) has been moderating and leading the show once a week, the concept of which has hardly changed at all.

“The High Diving”

For eleven years, various celebrities competed in individual and synchronized jumping at “TV total Turmsprung”. From 2004 to 2015 there were five moderators who led through the spectacular show: Ingolf Lück (64), Kai Pflaume (55), Oliver Welke (56), Matthias Opdenhövel (52) and Steven Gätjen (49).

And this show has returned too. This time, however, not on ProSieben, but on RTL. With Jan Köppen (39), Laura Wontorra (33) and Frank Buschmann (57) as moderators, celebrities once again competed against each other in individual and synchronous competitions at the beginning of June.

“The pasture”

“Die Alm – Celebrity Sweat and Edelweiß” also celebrated a revival. Stars like Mirja du Mont (46) and Magdalena Brzeska (44) faced the challenges of rural life. A look at the ratings was rather sobering here, so that there will probably be no more seasons here soon.
