The new generation of Intel processor, Raptor Lake Refresh, is not yet out that we are already talking about the next one. Entitled Arrow Lake, it would display an impressive performance gain on the graphics part, more than double the current chips.

No time to waste ! While we are still waiting for the release of the 14th generation of Intel processors for the end of the year under a new name, the firm is already thinking about the next one. The Igor’s Lab site was able to get its hands on internal slides that compare current models to those planned for 2024, or even 2025. Let’s clarify a few important points before we dive into the numbers. We are talking here about a comparison between a processor of the current range and an Intel Arrow lake processor15th generation that we won’t see for another year or two.

These processors will equip fixed devices: towers, laptops and miniature PCs (even if Intel officially abandons mini PCs). The standard measurement is given by a Core i9-13900K. It is in relation to him that the performance gains of the Arrow Lake can be read. The objective is therefore to see what the 15th generation of Intel processor would be worth compared to the 13th. One would logically expect higher performance, but on the graphic part, the leap forward is impressive.

Arrow Lake processor doubles the graphics power of an Intel Core i9

As a reminder, not all computers have a dedicated graphics card such as a GeForce RTX for example. This is especially true for the majority of laptops and mini PCs that do not have the space to accommodate this often imposing device. In this case, the processor takes care of it with an integrated graphics chip, also called “iGPU”. The comparison shows that that of an Arrow Lake is twice as powerful as a Core i9-13900K. The gain would even rise to 240% depending on the case.

The processor achieved this feat without consuming much more energy : it is blocked for the test at 250 W, against around 240W for the Core i9. Even if this information is of course lead to evolve over the official announcements of Intel, the results are encouraging. You won’t be running Diablo 4 in “ultra” on a laptop with an Arrow Lake chip, but all operations such as photo editing or simple video editing should be significantly smoother, which is already very good.
