After years of plummeting, life insurance rates are starting to rise again. After a year of 2022 at 1.91% on average, the yields announced for the year 2023 should be around 2.5%, but with some pearls expected near 4%. Find the rates for flagship contracts from all insurers, banks or other fintechs.
Savings stub value in France, Livret A obviously gives the LA. Including for insurers and their funds in euros, the star support of life insurance.
Despite all the incentives from banks, brokers and insurers to invest in risk funds (units of account) of life insurance, the euro fund and its capital guarantee at any time still weigh 60% of the 1890 billion euros savings managed in life insurance. Besides, the Livret A and its 369 billion euros remains a drop in the ocean…
Insurers who must meet the 3% of the booklet A
Despite this apparent imbalance, the most widespread investment is and remains the Livret A since nearly 9 out of 10 French households have at least one, compared to two out of five households for life insurance. The rebound of its rate 3% net of tax in February cannot leave insurers impassive. After falling to 1.28% on average in 2021, the returns on euro funds have actually rebounded, in number and very significantly in 2022 reaching 1.91% on average. The remuneration even reached 2.30% like Boursorama Vie or LCL Vie or even 2.50% for the MACSF RES Multisupport contract or 2.80% for Garance pargne.
These are the average rates of return on funds in euros calculated each year by the ACPR.
MoneyVox For what average rate in 2023? The announcements are in progress… the first to be revealed, unsurprisingly among the best returns. Several experts estimate that average remuneration will rise2.5% . Certain contracts, notably those created this year, could even reach 4.5%
.Attention
: even if your insurer announces a net management fee rate of 2.5% for the past year, you should not forget that this return is before taxes. So at best 2.07% annual return in 2023 after social security contributions for a fund showing 2.5%, if we consider that you benefit from the income tax reduction.

The performance of new life insurance contracts
In 2023, new life insurance contracts have emerged, promising exceptional returns for their few months of existence. What is it really? Placement-direct.fr launched its new contract in November 2023. The broker was targeting an annual 2023 return of at least 4% net of management fees. The promise is kept. Placement-direct.fr announced at the beginning of January that its very recent single-support contract displays a performance net of management fees which amounts to4.10%
. As this performance only applies to the last weeks of the past year, it cannot reasonably be compared to the other announced rates. Ms. reasoning forCorum
: the 4.45% net management fees announced on Corum EuroLife are only valid over 6 months and the return has therefore been annualized.
