What films, series and documentaries will you watch on Netflix in 2024? Here is the schedule of releases announced so far by the platform.
To everyone’s surprise, the firm with the red N did not wait until the end of the month to announce the new Netflix releases for January 2024. The program is, however, not yet complete and as is often the case, we should have additions in terms of films , and why not series and documentaries. What’s in store for subscribers? The unknown. Indeed, the confirmed releases are for the most part completely new things. But the SVOD service has also revealed other entries planned for 2024 with big names such as Beverly Hills Cop 4, The Old Guard 2, Havoc…
The first new Netflix releases 2024 with release dates
2023 is already behind Netflix which has a very busy 2024 schedule. The big news for January 2024 is En Plein Vol. An original production by F Gary Gray whose pitch is very similar to Braquage à l’Italienne, already directed by the filmmaker. “An international team of thieves is recruited to prevent a terrorist attack, and must carry out a heist of 500 million gold on a plane in mid-flight”. The casting is rather promising with among others Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), Kevin Hart (Jumanji), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Loki), Sam Worthington (Avatar), Úrsula Corberó (La Casa de papel)… See you on January 12, 2024.
Later this year, Netflix will release the sequel to Zack Snyder’s space opera, Rebel Moon Part 2: The Slasher. A second chapter which will have to prove itself, because the first part is not currently receiving good reviews. In March, there will also be lots of people with Spaceman. A sci-fi film starring Adam Sandler, Paul Dano and Carey Mulligan directed by Johan Renck, the director of the excellent HBO mini-series Chernobyl. Suffice to say that it is worth following very closely. The Journey is scheduled for March 1, 2024 on Netflix.
Another big piece of 2024: The Lady and the Dragon. A heroic fantasy blockbuster with Millie Bobby Brown, aka Eleven in Stranger Things. If the synopsis presents this as a fairy tale, that will not be the case according to Netflix. “A young woman agrees to marry a handsome prince – only to discover it was all a trap. She is thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon and must rely solely on her wits and willpower to survive.. It will be March 8, 2024 on Netflix.

New releases planned for Netflix in 2024
This is just the beginning and the 2024 Netflix release calendar is much more extensive than that. But at the time of publication of this article, a bunch of films and series do not yet have definitive release dates. So what will there be to eat? After 30 years of absence, Eddie Murphy returns to his cult role of Axel Foley for Beverly Hills Cop 4. There will also be action with The Old Guard 2, the sequel to the superhero film with Charlize Theron. Gareth Evans, to whom we owe the feature films The Raid, will return behind the camera for Havoc with Tom Hardy, Forest Whitaker, Timothy Olyphant…
And that’s without counting other projects such as Monkey Man, Back in Action or A Family Affair with Jamie Fox, Glen Close, Cameron Diaz, Nicole Kidman, Zack Efron etc. In short, all of Hollywood will be on Netflix in 2024. In terms of series, also expect great things starting with Arcane season 2. The launch will take place in November 2024. The animated show which takes place in the world of League of Legends will be followed by the animated adaptations of Tomb Raider and Devil May Cry at unspecified dates.
