Switzerland sunbathes on Mother’s Day. In Liestal BL, the 25-degree limit was even exceeded, as the weather service Meteo News writes on Twitter. This Sunday is therefore officially the first day of summer in the municipality.
In Vaduz, Liechtenstein, the border was already cracked on Sunday.
Temperatures continue to rise
Elsewhere it should also be warmer than 25 degrees during the day. Switzerland lies between a high near the Black Sea and a storm low centered in front of Ireland. This results in a southerly current that brings a surge of warm and quite dry air to the north.
In the Föhn valleys, thanks to the foehn, maximum temperatures of up to 28 degrees are expected.
With the new week, however, the summery feelings should soon come to an end. On Monday it will be a bit cooler again. In the Foehn valleys, 25 degrees can then be expected, elsewhere it is only between 16 and 20 degrees warm. Rainy weather is also increasingly coming from the west. (noo)
