1. Banana peel as a fertilizer

The banana is today the most consumed fruit in the world, it would be a shame to throw away its skin which is full of benefits. Rich in minerals, especially potassium and magnesium, banana peel can be used to fertilize plants and boost their growth. There are three possibilities for this:

  • Let your banana peels dry. Once dry, grind them until you get a powder. Sprinkle it on the soil where your plants are installed and voila!
  • Wrap a banana peel (inner side) around the foot of the plant. As it breaks down, the banana peel will release essential nutrients for the plants.
  • Alternatively, you can prepare a banana peel tea. To do this, place a banana peel in a jar and fill it with water. After two days of rest, the preparation will be ready to use on indoor or outdoor plants.

2. Banana peel as a leaf cleaner

To clean and make your green plants even more beautiful, you can use the inside of the banana peel! The white part will effectively dust the leaves of your plants and clean them gently. It could not be easier ! Just gently rub the leaves with the inside of the skin. The result: the leaves will be shinier than ever.

3. Banana peel as an insect repellent

Tired of seeing your plants eaten away by insects? Well know that banana peel is an excellent repellent! For this use, you just need to cut the banana peel and soak it in apple cider vinegar. Place the skin in a plastic bottle with small holes. The smell will attract the insects that will enter the bottle and end up trapped in the solution.
