This evening, it was Netflix’s turn to unveil its schedule for 2024 and satisfy some fans with news of their favorite films and series… Starting with The 3-Body Problem.
The American giant put an end to the suspense by announcing the renewal of its science fiction series for a season 2. If we are talking about suspense, it is because the latest creation of the David Benioff / DB Weiss duo has caused a lot of controversy. ‘ink. With its comfortable budget of 20 million dollars per episode – at the height of the ambitions of the two screenwriters – The Three-Body Problem apparently did not attract enough spectators… and even attracted the wrath from China.
A season 2 but a disappointing launch
The adaptation of Liu Cixin’s novel had a very disappointing launch, pushing some media to wonder if Netflix was really going to continue investing in a program that did not achieve its objectives… but it is clear that the platform seems to be doing trust in Benioff and Weiss (or she wants to keep them in her stable by offering them a season 2) who have teased an “even better” season 2.
Regardless, this is very good news for fans of the 3-Body Problem who devoured all 8 episodes in a few days.
