A highly prized collector’s item

A visual puzzle

The virtual reality headset as shown in the series is an absolutely phenomenal object equipped with technology still unknown on our planet, which inevitably intrigues the characters in the show.

But with its ultra-reflective appearance, the object was not an easy task to film. As one of the series’ co-creators, David Benioff, explains in a behind-the-scenes video for the series, every reflection we see on the helmet when it’s on screen had to be created with multiple special effects in order to show the desired image (and not the camera reflected in the helmet mirror).
