The 3 pieces of news you shouldn’t miss this week: free Netflix, the best series at the Emmy Awards and Juliette Binoche as Coco Chanel

What are the three news stories from streaming platforms that should not be missed under any circumstances this week?

Succession and The Bear, big winners of the Emmy Awards

On January 15, the 75th edition of the Emmy Awards was held, which recognize the best in television each year in the United States. And we can say that this new ceremony didn’t really hold any surprises since two series rated more than 4 out of 5 by AlloCiné spectators won the day.

Indeed, Succession and The Bear won 4 statuettes each in their respective fields (drama and comedy). The rest of the categories are more diverse in terms of rewards. If you want to catch up with the best distinguished series, find the complete list.

An unexpected partnership for Netflix

It’s an astonishing partnership between a streaming platform and a mass distribution giant: Netflix and Carrefour are joining forces to offer an attractive offer between accessible subscription and in-store discounts. Carrefour allows its customers in the Bordeaux and Rouen region to subscribe to a subscription called Carrefour Plus.

This subscription at 5.99 euros/month allows you to benefit from a 10% reduction on all Carrefour brand products but above all from a free subscription to Netflix (the Standard formula with advertising), all without commitment. This initiative is surely inspired by a precedent: the partnership between the American store chain Wallmart and the Paramount+ platform.

Juliette Binoche as Coco Chanel in the chic series of the year

It’s a big Franco-American production which arrives on February 14 on Apple TV+: The New Look promises drama and chic! Set in Paris, under the Nazi occupation, this new fiction tells the end of Coco Chanel’s reign over fashion and the rise to power of Christian Dior, who revives the world with his revolutionary and iconic style, influencing generations of yesterday and today.

The platform has unveiled the official trailer and it promises an exciting thriller against a backdrop of rags and war with an exceptional cast: Ben Mendelsohn in the shoes of Christian Dior, Juliette Binoche as you have never seen her in the shoes of Coco Chanel, but also Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), John Malkovich, Emily Mortimer, Claes Bang, Glenn Close but also the French Hugo Becker and Zabou Breitman.

The Succession series is available on Prime Video with the Warner Pass.

The Bear series is available on Disney+.
