The 6th Matrimony Days is this weekend!

From September 19 to 20, the Days of Matrimony will echo the famous Days of Heritage. The event launched in 2015 by the HF Île-de-France association's mission is to highlight “the heritage of women” and “erase the inequalities between women and men in the arts and culture”.

"With the Matrimony, we weave filiations, we weave a network, we return to the Republic of Letters, and we discover our ancestors, our companions. We are amazed to find that we were not the only ones. That we are not alone. And this exit from solitudes, joyful and exciting, is what an association like HF is basically aiming for.", declares Aline César, president of HF Île-de-France (Gender equality in the arts and culture) on the Journées du Matefeuille website.

At La Cité Audacieuse, a unique Parisian place dedicated to gender equality and the promotion of women's rights, we met Marie Guérini, Secretary General of HF Île-de-France. This radiant woman with contagious energy confided in us the perspectives of such days.

"Heritage is what makes our cultural heritage. 95% of the heritage consists of the works of men. Why change this? Because women have been on this land of culture and the arts for centuries. But few know it, because the school books do not say it. It was therefore obviously to create these days of Matrimoine. ", explains Marie Guérini.

"It is necessary to repair, like an injustice of history. They wrote, they sang, they composed, they directed and they have painted for centuries.", she adds.

The Audacious City

La Cité Audacieuse was born following a long maturation of the feminist associative sector and the public authorities. It was in 2001, under the former mayor of Paris, Mr. Bertrand Delanoë, that the idea of a “City of Women” was born and was the subject of studies and consultations from 2005 to 2008. by experts, associations, academics.

And on March 5, 2020, the Cité Audacieuse opens its doors in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. The Women's Foundation provides financial, legal and material support to associations committed to the issue of women's rights, and for many years has supported this city project dedicated to the influence of feminism. The site is supported by the City of Paris and the support of private sponsors, such as the Galeries Lafayette and the Saint Gobain Foundation.

A vast place of sorority. "Thanks to a large public space on the ground floor, open 6 days a week, managed by an associative café and animated by a cultural program dedicated to the promotion of women's rights – here visitors to the Cité Audacieuse will be able to participate in workshops, conferences, exhibitions, or simply enjoy a coffee. In the courtyard, a corner of nature in the making, where initiatives at the crossroads of ecology and feminism can be expressed. Finally, a space reserved for the setting up of permanence by appointment, provided by specialized associations. On the second floor, a studio set up by La Poudre, will be available to the users of the premises in order to record their podcasts and bring the City out of its walls by broadcasting content.", can we read in one of their press release.

"WE ARE NOT JUST MUSES!" Remember this buoyant slogan.
