A series full of Jedi

The Acolyte arrives next June and will highlight the Jedi knights. It was in fact at the time of the High Republic, a period during which lightsaber pros were still numerous, that this new series created by Leslye Headland (Russian doll) takes place.

The show will mix murder and mystery as Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae of Squid Game), very powerful and respected, will investigate a series of enigmatic murders, which will pit him against Mae (Amandla Stenberg, The Hate U Give), a dangerous warrior from her past.

In his investigation, Sol will be able to count on the help of other members of the Jedi Order, including his padawan Jecki (Dafne Keen, Logan), the Jedi/Wookie Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo, Solo: A Star Wars Story), the knight Yord (Charlie Barnett, Russian doll) or even Master Indara, played by Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity in Matrix).

These protectors of the galaxy will also have to face a new Sith adversary, as evidenced by the appearance of a masked enemy with a red lightsaber at the end of the trailer below.

Note, the cast of the show is completed by Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Russian doll) and Dean-Charles Chapman (Game Of Thrones), all of whom make an appearance in these images.

It remains to be seen whether the mystery will indeed keep us in suspense throughout the eight episodes that comprise The Acolyte. The first two arrive on Disney+ on June 5.
