The Acolyte: Leak reveals plot of upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series

• “The Acolyte” takes place in the era of the High Republic and thus almost 100 years before the prequel trilogy.
• The upcoming “Star Wars” series will not appear on Disney+ until 2023 at the earliest.
• Nevertheless, there are already leaks that reveal the content of the first episode.

“Star Wars” fans are currently looking forward to the start of “Andor” or are waiting for “The Mandalorian” season 3, but of course Disney + is still working on other projects behind the scenes. In addition to “Ahsoka”, the series “The Acolyte”, which will take us into the age of the High Republic for the first time, is expected in 2023.

Filming should start soon, unless they are already running secretly. Now the “Star Wars” fan site Fulcrum Leaks has received the first information about the first episode of the series, which reveals little about the complete plot of the series, but already gives an approximate direction.

So Aura, the main character, lives with her grandfather Theo and little sister Miri on the planet Sanshiro. Aura is 12 at this time, Miri is 3, both are Force sensitive. As Miri and Aura set off in a boat to look at the stars, an alien attacked them, but Jedi rushed to help.

One of the Jedi strikes a deal with Theo, and Aura befriends Melody, the Jedi’s Padawan, who is about Aura’s age. Aura later finds out that Theo promised to turn Miri over to the Jedi Order in exchange for permanent protection.

The aliens attack again, but this time the Jedi are able to win. Now the Jedi leave Sanshiro again and take Miri with them. Aura, who also wants to join them, is considered too old and is therefore left behind.

Since Amandla Stenberg, who plays Aura, is already 23 years old, “The Acolyte” should get a time jump in Episode 2. From the current perspective, it is not yet clear why Aura’s sister Miri has to be offered to the Jedi in order to guarantee protection. After all, the Jedi were supposed to ensure order everywhere and at all times, especially in the High Republic when there were still a lot of Jedi.

It is expected that we will learn more about the further episodes of “The Acolyte” in the near future. In addition, it is of course possible that the story will still be adjusted and the finished version will differ from these early leaks.

Although “Andor” was shot on real sets and not hidden in the volume, there are still relatively few leaks for the upcoming “Star Wars” production. So we can be surprised what rebel pilot Cassian Andor expects from September 21st in the Disney + novelty program.
