The Twitter account named “One Piece Netflix Fan” (which is not officially linked to Netflix) spotted an interesting update on the CV of a certain Dean Damonse. A “rookie” actor who will have the heavy responsibility of embodying the famous Monkey D. Dragon in the series One Piece. Indeed, the actor’s CV mentions the name of the character, right next to a certain ‘Project Panda’, the code name of the series. One Piece at the start of its production. The actor confirmed the information a little later on his Instagram account. For those who don’t know, Monkey D. Dragon is none other than Luffy’s father. An important character. Since it’s surprising to see such a young actor playing a rather old character, the “One Piece Netflix Fan” account shares a rather interesting theory.
They may have chosen someone younger, thinking long term. With makeup and costume, her age will be more convincing. It’s possible he’s playing both the Young (if he appears during Roger’s run) and the Old Dragon or just one of them. The CV only mentions “Dragon”.
