After the fatal accident on October 21, the Los Angeles court registered a first complaint against Alec Baldwin and other members of the Rust film crew.
On October 21, 2021, Alec Baldwin shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins while filming the movie Rust, in New Mexico. Since then, the investigation continues its course to determine the real causes of the tragedy and to know if a human error is at the origin of this terrible accident. The Los Angeles court has moreover registered a first complaint for “general negligence” against the actor and other members of the western crew.
This complaint thus targets the chief armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the assistant-director Dave Halls as well as those which produce the film. Alec Baldwin is one of the producers and is therefore targeted by this complaint filed by Serge Svetnoy, the chief electrician of Rust. For him, this death could have been avoided. He tries to defend his point of view in this complaint containing 25 pages “This incident was caused by the negligent acts of the defendants, as well as their agents, directors and employers.”, Says the missive.
