This man born in 1990, who admitted the violence during his police custody, appears in particular for “violence with a weapon on a person holding public authority”.
Already known to justice for “old convictions”, mainly traffic offenses and insults, he was placed in pre-trial detention at the end of his police custody on Monday.
According to the investigation, the plainclothes official was leaving a restaurant with his wife and their two daughters (10 and 12) early Saturday afternoon when the alleged attacker thought they were laughing of him and got angry. To calm the situation, the official took out his police card. The man then saw red, beat him up, including on the ground, and smashed a glass bottle over his head.
For the prosecution, the fact that the victim mentioned his professional status as a police officer played a role in the violence suffered. The victim, a 49-year-old policeman working at night, suffered multiple bruises and a nine-point sutured scalp wound. He received a seven-day ITT.
