There was no shortage of space games in this week’s events, but others still got their spotlight at PC Gaming Show. Among them, The Alterswhich inevitably stands out, because it is developed by 11 bit studiocreator of This War of Mine who is currently working on Frostpunk 2.
He therefore designs in parallel this The Alterswhose first cinematic is reminiscent of Moon, the Duncan Jones movie. It will be a priori a narrative adventure game where Jan Dolskya lone worker on a space station, will decide to create alternate versions of himself called quirks. This meaningful decision will change the course of his life, and above all lead him to ask many questions about the other lives he could have had.
This is the story of Jan Dolski, a simple worker faced with circumstances that lead him to a crossroads that will change his life. After crash-landing on a distant planet, stranded and alone, Jan finds himself in a bewildering life-or-death situation. His only hope of survival is to bring help on board. Not yet understanding the weight of his choice, Jan must create alternate versions of himself if he wants to move forward: the Quirks.
The Alters is a game about life-changing moments. These binary decisions that are made in a few nanoseconds, but which have an influence on your entire life. It’s about looking within yourself, into your past, and discovering that you are who you are as the sum of those many choices. And when you do that, a fundamental question arises: WHAT IF…?
What if I changed my life? What if I took a different path? Who would I be? What would I say to another me? What could I learn if I spoke to my different selves? What if I talked to my many selves at the same time?! And if… ?

The concept is promising, but in the absence of an image of gameplaydifficult to know what The Alters reserve for us. It has no release date, but is currently planned for PC via Steam.
