Last October The Alters gave a first glimpse of its gameplay. Today, during the Xbox Partner conference, the 11 bit Studio title focused a little more on its story but also on the gameplay around the life of its protagonist, Jan Dolski.
As a reminder, The Alters puts us in the shoes of a simple miner who survived a crash on a very hostile planet. Problem is, Jan Dolski finds himself completely alone to manage a mobile base designed to be piloted by an entire team. He will then make the choice to create alters of himself to help him take care of what is now his home. Especially since he is on a planet revolving around a star so hot that he would not survive sunrise. It is therefore essential to move this damn base.
Created through a mysterious substance found on the planet, the Quirks are each the result of a change in decisions in Jan’s past. This famous “and if I had done that, what would my life be like today” then takes on its full meaning. Each of them will also have the knowledge necessary to allow this entire troop to survive. But they will also have their own fears and ambitions, which could cause Jan some trouble.
As a reminder, The Alters is expected for release in 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. It will also be available directly in the Game Pass subscription.
