Amazon releases in France its first doorbell called Blink Video Doorbell at 60 euros. Interesting positioning at an attractive price for a doorbell with video.
If many connected doorbells can be expensive like the Nest Doorbell, Amazon is launching the price battle by selling its Blink Video Doorbell today at 60 euros.
What you need in functions for the Blink Video Doorbell
Amazon equips its Blink Video Doorbell with what it takes for a good connected doorbell thanks to its Wi-Fi connection. It can obviously be wired to its indoor chime, to use it as a classic doorbell. Each time motion is detected, you can receive a notification in the Blink app to see who is ringing at your door, all in 1080p at 30 frames per second (in night vision too) and in two-way audio.
The doorbell also acts as a surveillance camera, to record video via a Blink subscription which allows data to be saved. A free trial is offered until October 2022 for customers who would like to test the offer. This subscription costs at least 30 euros per year in its basic version, while its “More» is 100 euros per year. Enough to allow Amazon to lower the purchase price of its doorbell by catching up on its subscription, although it is not essential.
But you can also save them locally via the Blink Sync Module 2 and a USB key. This Blink Sync Module 2 is in fact an additional accessory sold separately at 35 euros; it allows you to control devices from Amazon’s Blink range. It is also essential to have live video and two-way audio.
Regarding battery life, the Blink Video Doorbell can last up to two years with two AA batteries (included!). This connected video doorbell works with Alexa, so you can be notified on Alexa devices or have live video on an Echo Show display.
