The Andor series offers itself a date and details

The Star Wars Andor series has been a bit sparse with information until now. At least until Disney decides to reveal more in early July 2022.

It’s the Empire newspaper which, as always, has great information on Star Wars which comes to lift the veil on the Andor series. For the record, SW: Andor will offer a prequel plot to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, released in 2016. We can follow the adventures of Cassian Andor there.

5 years of Cassian Andor’s life for this Star Wars series

In the interview, the showrunner of the series, Tony Gilroy explains that the story takes place over five years and that Andor consists of two seasons of 12 episodes for a total of 24. It is therefore much longer than the very recent Obi-wan series, this should please Star Wars fans who always want more content.

The scale of the show is so huge. The directors work in blocks of three episodes, so we did four blocks of three episodes each. We thought, ‘Wow, that would be really cool if we used each block to represent a year. We will therefore approach one year for each block.

The last episode of season 2 should therefore be located just before the movie Rogue One. Once again we hope that from a narrative point of view this can be of interest, because we start from the postulate that Andor will never really be in danger during these 5 years, since we find him safe and sound in the film. We will therefore have to act intelligently. If it works well with Obi-wan, who is a Jedi, it may be quite different for Star Wars Andor and the fans may be a little more observant.
