An altercation took place between candidates and the mayor of the municipality, Joé Bedi. Tuesday, January 12, 2021, Raphaël Pépin, emblematic reality TV candidate and friend of Ricardo and Nehuda, involved in this affair alongside their child's nanny who appeared in Love island, gave their version of the facts on the set of Do not touch My TV.
He claimed that, contrary to what was said following the article published by The Parisian, Ricardo and Nehuda would not have protested against photographing them without their permission. According to Ricardo and Nehuda, it is the production which would have asked the mayor and his family (gathered to celebrate a birthday in the hotel) not to photograph one of the candidates so that her identity is not revealed on social networks. "Here you are not at home, if we want to share the photos we will", the city councilor would have replied. "At no time do I see a reality TV contestant punching someone", notes Raphaël Pépin while viewing the video illustrating the scene. Benjamin Castaldi then specifies: "It went up in the towers because of the mayor's son who would have hit first (…) the first blows were not carried by the candidates of reality TV (…) it is Ricardo who s he's knocked, he's been in hospital, he's taken a chair over his head, he's got an apparently bruised head. "
Nehuda denounces a "relentlessness"
Raphaël is also keen to ensure that the production asks for the criminal record of all candidates before filming and that in the event of violence, they are directly evicted. "Nehuda and Ricardo are saddened ", indicates Raphaël Pépin who recalls that the previous cases in which Ricardo and Nehuda are cited have been closed. Columnist Kelly Vedovelli for her part contacted Nehuda who denounces a "relentlessness" against them. Cyril Hanouna thinks he knows then that the mayor and the prefect could not come to an agreement on this shoot. If the prefect gave the production permission to shoot, the mayor did not hear it the same way. "There is a war between the mayor and the prefect who authorized the production to shoot in Reunion and the mayor would have been completely against", indicates Cyril Hanouna. The shooting of Holiday of the Angels, which was scheduled to start on Monday January 11, 2021, has been canceled as production company La Grosse Equipe revealed in a press release.
The mayor and his wife were given three days of ITT. "A hysterical woman came to our table and said to my wife 'You took pictures, this is not normal. I thought she was joking, not at all.", denounced Joe Bedier to 20 minutes before adding: "My wife ended up on the floor with big guys on top of her. I got beaten up, I thought I wasn't going to get out of it." Investigations are underway to find out more about the exact sequence of events. For the moment, no charge has been brought against Ricardo and Nehuda.
