The Animal Kingdom: how to create mutants larger than life? Meeting with the special effects team


For this new episode of the Spotlight podcast show, AlloCiné welcomes Frédéric Lainé and Cyrille Bonjean, MFX and VFX supervisors for “The Animal Kingdom” by Thomas Cailley. The opportunity to delve behind the scenes of this ambitious French film.

Directed by Thomas Cailley, The Animal Kingdom is, without a doubt, the most ambitious French film of 2023. Between science fiction, fantasy and family drama, the story depicts a France in which part of the population is subject to animal mutations.

To delve into the film’s manufacturing secrets, the AlloCiné podcast show welcomes two of the artists who worked on the special effects, Frédéric Lainé, MFX supervisor and co-founder of Atelier 69, and Cyrille Bonjean, VFX supervisor for the MPC company.
