The antenna of France Inter temporarily hacked in eastern Paris during the election night – Le Monde

PARIS, April 10 (Reuters) – France Inter’s antenna was temporarily hacked on Sunday evening for more than an hour during election night, Le Monde reported in its online edition on Sunday.

“A speech against politicians, technocrats or even journalists was broadcast in a loop when the results of the first round were announced,” the newspaper said.

France Inter specified that “a pirate transmitter (had) blown the frequency of the station”, reports the daily. The incident was discovered by a listener’s tweet, the radio said, adding that only the network covering Paris’ 20th arrondissement had been affected.

“Friends listeners from eastern Paris, some of you were disturbed by listening to our election night,” wrote Laurence Bloch, director of France Inter, on Twitter. “We are absolutely sorry about this and are doing everything to understand what happened and prevent it from happening again.”

Le Monde reports that the radio has not received any claims.
