In the trial against officer Franco A., the defense is pleading for acquittal of the terror charge. The lawyers claim that he only wanted to uncover grievances.
So Franco A. rarely kept it short. Again and again, the accused had made excessive statements in this process, which had been running for 14 months, and he repeatedly tried to discuss with the presiding judge. But now, in the last word he is entitled to, the thirty-three-year-old confines himself to a few dry sentences.
He learned a lot during the proceedings before the Higher Regional Court (OLG) in Frankfurt, he says. It was painful experiences, partly due to his own behavior. He also played a part in the fact that the process was so long, although without intending to. In the future, as a houseman, he wants to take care of his three small children. They are in a phase in which they need a “safe haven”.
