Good news for Tesla vehicle owners who also use iPhones, the automaker has just added support for one of the best iOS features on its app: Shortcuts.
Tesla’s iPhone app just got a new update, number 4.24.0, and with it comes a handy new feature. Indeed, it now supports Apple Shortcuts. ” Access your vehicle’s controls and climate control from the Apple Shortcuts app Tesla announces in the patch notes.
If you are unfamiliar with the Shortcuts application, it allows you to streamline your habits and save you precious seconds on repetitive tasks. A shortcut is simply a way to perform an action in your apps with a tap or a word to Siri. The Shortcuts app arrived with iOS 12 in 2018. It grew out of an automation tool for iPhones called Workflow that Apple had acquired the previous year.

Tesla adopts one of Apple’s best features on its app
Now you can summon Siri and say the name of the automation you want. Moreover, Apple no longer forces you to say “Hey Siri” to ask for help from the assistant, since a simple “Siri” is enough.
Unlike regular commands that can be understood by Siri, this time you’ll need to speak the name of the automation verbatim for it to work, and so learn them by heart.

In addition to asking Siri to do all these actions for you, you can now evenUse Shortcuts Widgets to activate tasks without having to open the Tesla app on your iPhone. Previously, to achieve the same actions, you had to go through third-party third-party applications such as Tessie. This new update will therefore greatly simplify the use of your Tesla, provided that you also use an iPhone.
